Kate Newton is a staff attorney in Cohen Milstein’s Consumer Protection practice, where she assists in discovery and evidentiary-related aspects of litigation and deposition preparation.
Before joining Cohen Milstein, Kate was a contract attorney for nearly a decade, working on a range of individual and class action disputes, including securities, antitrust, consumer protection, employment, and intellectual property.
Prior to that, she was an attorney at the Legal Aid Society, Criminal Defense Division, in New York City; and the Broward County Public Defender’s Office in Florida.
While attending law school, Kate received awards for legal writing and the Moot Court Honor Society. Through the Lawyers Committee for Human Rights, she achieved political asylum for an Afghan refugee.
